ello, my name is Tom Staley, and here is a little bit about myself:
I am first and foremost a musician. I've played professionally for 32 years. I have been a Scientologist for 21 years, part of that time on staff at the Scientology Mission of Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. I did a lot of traveling in the late 60's and early 70's with a group called N.B.R.Q. I was the original drummer for the group and got into Scientology soon after leaving the band.
I was introduced to Scientology through Chick Corea in 1976. His band "Return to Forever" was in Miami performing and I was there to see what all the excitement was about. What I saw that night changed my life forever. Chick and his band were phenomenal musicians, but it was the fun and games atmosphere that really impressed me. I had heard that he and the band were Scientologists so I bought a copy of Dianetics: The Modern Science of Mental Health and soon after that did a communications course and I was off and running so to speak.
L. Ron Hubbard has been a continual inspiration to me ever since. And now I'm preparing to join staff again in Tampa, FL. There's nothing that compares to helping others, and there's nothing that helps others so effectively as Scientology. I've had so many successes in Scientology it's hard to pick which ones to relate. No doubt the biggest and most exciting have come from helping others.
