ello, my name is Theresa Dempsey, and here is a little bit about myself:
All my life, I had been looking for something that would give me peace and some sort of happiness although I did not know exactly how to define happiness. On the surface I did well in school and later professionally, but I always felt something amiss in my life, no partner, house, cars, careers, money and material things could fill the void. So I continued to search for answers by reading self-help books and attending seminars.
About ten or eleven years ago, I found the book, Dianetics: The Modern Science of Mental Health, among other self-improvement books in a book store. The first part of the book explained to me why I felt 'wrong' all of my life. I was very excited. However, I was dismayed at the second part of the book about auditors* and one could not fix his problems alone although there were resolutions available through Dianetics. I felt I did not need help. I thought "How could I possibly reveal my problems, fears, shames, etc. to another person?" That thought stopped me from pursuing Dianetics. It was a mistake. I thought I was being smart, but I did not fully comprehend an important piece of data - "If I knew what caused my unhappiness and ills and knew how to fix them, I would not have any - right?"
Years later, my life hit the bottom. My husband was terminally ill with cancer. I was in the state of constant fear and anxiety. At that point, I saw a Scientology commercial on TV and decided to read Dianetics: The Modern Science of Mental Health again and eventually got up the nerve to make a call to the Pasadena Organization of the Church of Scientology.
Well, L. Ron Hubbard was right! My life has not been the same
since. *Auditor: a person trained and qualified in applying Dianetics and/or Scientology processes and procedures to individuals for their betterment; called an auditor because auditor means one who listens.
