About Myself

H ello, my name is Scott Rhoads, and here is a little bit about myself:

I am a commercial Captain as well as an avid yacht racer and cruiser. I have logged well over 100,000 miles at sea and I have visited countries around the world. I have a healthy collection of sea stories that range from full gales in a sail boat off the coast of Mexico and amazing victories on sailing yachts to calm and beautiful passages across oceans and bays.

Currently I am volunteering with a non-profit sailing school and teaching maritime skills to children and adults. It’s been a lot of fun. As part of this I have done minor to major yacht repairs and have helped prepare a number of other people to cruise to Mexico, the South Pacific and Caribbean.

I own a small ultra light racing yacht and take it on a trailer to race all over the country. After a few more years of getting used to this boat, I hope to race single handed from San Francisco to Hawaii on it. I stand a chance of winning my class with the right weather and a steady hand at the helm.

I am a very healthy person with no distracting ailments, but I don’t spend much time thinking about my health. Though it has been almost ten years since I ran my last marathon I ran eight of them over a four year period. I don’t have a special diet of any kind, but I believe in eating things that have some nutritional value and I try to get some sleep each night. With that I do very well.

I have been a Scientologist for over fifteen years and it has changed my life so much that I often forget the things that I was able to handle and improve in my life at the beginning. I have become healthier, happier, more confident and more financially stable. I found that Scientology has given me the tools to understand myself and improve myself. The fact that I know that any situation in life or anything that my attention gets stuck on can be addressed with a tool that is available in Scientology has given me the ability to jump out into life with the excitement of a young child and try new things as well as drive to attain my long term personal goals.

I have never been a person who runs around trying to make everyone a Scientologist, but I have had huge successes with it and can honestly recommend it to anyone who has an honest desire to improve their life and the lives of their friends.[End]
