Before I first walked into the Church of Scientology mission in San Francisco, I was drinking a quart of vodka a week, had trouble with relationships, had pain caused by arthritis throughout my legs and was just recovering from mono. I was a mess. Even through all of this I remained successful as an artist but I was miserable and on a downhill slide.
From the day that I started my first course I knew that my life would be different. It did not happen all at once, but I learned how to communicate with another individual, how to study, how to organize my plans and activities so that I reach my goals and how to live life without drugs and alcohol. My life was back on the way up.
Then things really got exciting when I learned how to help others to have these same gains.
Over the years I have been able to help hundreds of people to live better lives in their own estimations. From teaching people to be more competent performers, to helping people overcome the fears caused by their pasts, to help children to read and learn in my present job as the director of a tutoring program, I can find no greater joy than to help others.
From the time that I found that by getting on the stage I could make an audience smile, I know that I would spend my life helping others to smile but with Scientology this has come to a whole new level. Through the technology found in Scientology, I know without a doubt that if a friend comes to me needing help or if a parent comes to me with their child that cannot read I CAN HELP and I can handle it. That is an amazing feeling and a great way to live your life.
If I can share anything about Scientology with my friends it is not the miracle of getting help yourself or of the amazing abilities that you can have, it is the fact that YOU CAN HELP TOO and you can handle and change those things which need to be fixed around you. That is the greatest miracle of all.
