ello, my name is Maria Terrade, and here is a little bit about myself:

     I'm a writer: I write screenplays, books and stage plays and have even had two movies that I've written shown on HBO. I have a wonderful French husband who cooks and acts and a little boy who does commercials. We live in a cozy home in Glendale, California with a funny little cat named Beau.

      I originally got into Scientology because I met this guy who was a Scientologist and I wanted him to like me. I figured if I started reading Dianetics: The Modern Science of Mental Health he would be impressed and stick around. He didn't but it didn't matter, because I had discovered a whole group of people who had the same quality as this one guy, the ability to communicate. I mean, really communicate! There are so many different courses in the church about communication that really helped me and it was easy to find someone who had also learned those skills. My husband and I have a better relationship than I ever thought possible because we can communicate, really communicate to each other.

      I am most proud of my son. I've raised him with all the knowledge I've learned at the church and he is really incredible. He is cheerful and sparkles from morning to night. I never yell at him, never spank him, barely have to discipline him. Sometimes I remember how I was raised and I am so happy that I haven't done the things to my son that were done to me. People recognize that I am a great mother. I know that it's true. There is nothing so satisfying as knowing you are raising a decent, capable human being.

      I'm really satisfied with my life, my days are full and productive and I feel that I am accomplishing my goals. What a debt of gratitude I owe L. Ron Hubbard!
