I have been in Scientology since 1984. Prior to that I had spent hours in the self-improvement of the local bookstores, and had checked out a considerable number of disciplines. What I observed was that they all had the answer--but they were all different answers! By that time, I had nearly forgotten the question.
I then met a person with whom I shared some ideas, who said to me, "You're a Scientologist.", and then introduced me to some of her friends. I was impressed by the fact that no one seemed to force any opinions or beliefs on me, but were genuinely interested in my ideas. I got some introductory auditing, which is a special type of "listening " process, and felt so validated and "blown out" that I haven't really stopped to take a breath since that day! I've spent my local bookstore time in the fiction department and the remainder of my "searching " perusing the collective works of L. Ron Hubbard!
The changes in my responsibility and ethics level, to mention a few, have made my life so much easier and my relationships stable. My long term goals are being met, and the word "depression" is not in my vocabulary, because I know where that comes from. Setbacks, inevitable on this planet, are met with the same equanimity as successes. And I am very excited to be able to share these successes with others so that they can experience them, too!
