I was 21 years old, grief stricken that my boyfriend left me. I had a false pregnancy (I had all the symptoms of being pregnant but the tests came up negative). I had been taking recreational drugs, and couldn’t function in life. I was so scared that I would not able to take care of myself that I went to live with my older brother for a while. He was living in Canada, and the Canadian doctors there were so stumped by my condition they wanted to study me like a guinea pig. I ran out of the hospital, terrified that I was a freak.

     A few weeks later, I met a man who was a Scientologist and he gave me some counseling called Dianetics auditing. In my first counseling session I got my period for the first time in 8 months. In my second session I completely eradicated the horrible grief I was going through. After just a few more sessions I was more alive than I had ever been in my life, and extremely happy.

     That was almost 30 years ago. Since then I have never worried that I couldn’t hold a job or fulfill my dreams. I have a wonderful marriage and home, and I have been able to help others. I work for an organization called Criminon, and with my knowledge of Scientology I am able to rehabilitate inmates in prisons so that when they are released from prison they are able to lead productive lives without returning to a life of crime. This not only helps the individual criminals, but makes the world a safer place in which to live. There are no words to express how rewarding it is to me to be able to help these people, that until now had been hopeless of ever leading a productive life.
