Although I have always loved things like fiction, fairy tales, humor and romance, when it came down to looking for a way to succeed in life I wanted something practical. Practicality is what appealed to me about Dianetics and Scientology.
Among the countless successes with the techniques of Dianetics and Scientology was the detoxification of my physical body by doing what is called the " Purification Program". As a young person before sunscreen was invented I had sunburned myself multiple times swimming and playing outside. As an adult I worked continuously with x-ray radiation in a dental office. I knew from my reading that radiation is cumulative and I had a concern about what it might be doing to my body. I wanted to handle this.
When I read how the Scientology Purification Program removes radiation from one's body with a scientifically researched regimen of exercise, nutrients and sauna sweat-out I knew I had found my answer to my radiation concerns. Most memorable to me while on this program was the day in the sauna when I turned on a full-fledged sunburn- including a short's line! That specific sunburn looked so familiar and it finally dawned on me that it was exactly like one I had gotten fishing out on a lake years before. It had been one of the worst burns I had experienced in my life. Then, slowly as I continued sweating in the sauna the sunburn gradually faded away and I knew I had sweated out the radiation I had received from that sunburn I'd gotten when I was ten years old! I felt so relieved to be free of the effects of past radiation and other toxic elements when I finished my Purification Program. This is just one example of the practical, common sense solutions to be found in Scientology. For information on Scientology's common sense moral code I'd recommend the booklet The Way to Happiness.
