(From 1986) It is now a number of weeks since I finished my last session of Dianetics auditing and I feel that I must write and tell you what the benefits have been both to me and my family.

     Over the last 5 years I have suffered from terrible attacks of migraine. The doctors have tried every drug on the market to no avail. They all made me more ill. They tried a brain scan suspecting a brain tumor; no luck there.

     I had resigned myself to a continual nagging headache at least once a fortnight, making me unable to run my business and subsequently putting a lot of strain on my wife.

     I would have to retire to my bed until the attack abated. The longest attack I have had lasted 6 days. On average they lasted 2 days. Over the last couple of years, these headaches made me morose and very hard to live with. Further consultation with the medical profession ended with the advice that I should sell my successful business as in their opinion my headaches were caused by the fact that I could not physically stand the strain of managing it.

     I would have believed them but for the fact that the business was doing well and in my book you only get strain from things that are failing. (this has turned a bit more long winded that I intended, but I wanted you to get the full picture of how it was pre-Dianetics.)

     Then my wife, Sandra, read the chapter in Dianetics: The Modern Science of Mental Health entitled "psychosomatic illness". When she read the reference to migraine we discussed the possibility that it could be true.

     And so I arrived at the Sunderland Dianetics Information Centre. After 4 hours in session with Denise, I located the actual cause of the migraine and removed it. The ease with which it was done was mind blowing. I also found that I had had a headache all my life which I accepted as being normal.

     When I walked out of the Dianetics Information Centre, I felt as if I was walking on air. I have not had the slightest hint of a headache for weeks. Life in general has improved immensely. In particular, the different aspects of my married life are fantastic now. Dianetics should be taught in schools. I recommend it to any one. The gains received more than recompense the time and effort expended. As soon as the holiday season is over I will be back.
