If you want to find out more about Dianetics and Scientology, the best way to do this is to read an L. Ron Hubbard book on the subject. I personally recommend you read Dianetics: The Modern Science of Mental Health.
This book really helped me with understanding why I felt the way I did. I had read some books on psychology before Dianetics. Frankly, they made me feel worse. They talked of the insane and while I didn’t feel on top of the world I didn’t ever consider myself a lunatic. Dianetics was very real to me, it talked about real incidents, and normal people and I found it very plausible in its theory of how the mind works. The only problem was that it seemed too easy - would it work for me?
Having read the book I had only one option and that was to give it a go. I bought some auditing at a local Dianetics Foundation and within 5 hours, it exceeded my best hopes. Not only did everything go exactly like it said in the book but I handled a major upset I had with my girlfriend at the time! Had I not experienced it myself I would not have believed that one man had just sat down and written a complete manual on the human mind, what goes wrong with it, and exactly how you fix it.
Just reading the book was a big relief for me. At least, having read it, I knew what was wrong. For this reason I recommend anyone to read this book — very highly.
