ello, my name is Deborah Emlein, and here is a little bit about myself:
Hello, and Welcome to Scientology!
Twenty years ago, I was looking for an answer to one question--why wasn't I happy? There was no particular reason for me to be unhappy; I had caring parents, a very undeprived childhood, a good education. All the things that should make a person happy and satisfied. Trouble is, I wasn't either. I tried various things--different religions, meditation, yoga, mysticism, drugs. While all of this was interesting, no lasting answers were available.
Then I stumbled onto Scientology, or, more precisely, a book called, Dianetics: The Modern Science of Mental Health. There is a description in there, in the first few chapters, of a state of being called *"clear." A "clear"--the person I had always wanted to be. The book said there were very specific reasons I wasn't happy, wasn't as nice as I wanted to be, wasn't as friendly as I wanted to be. But the real me--was all this and more. I started on this road and have never once looked back.
Since that time, my awareness has expanded beyond myself and my personal goals, which I have achieved. I can, with Scientology, improve others' lives in so many ways and to me this is what is most valuable: helping others to make their lives saner, happier, and more productive.
*Clear: the name of a state achieved through auditing (Counselling) or an individual who has achieved this state. A Clear is a being who no longer has his own reactive mind*. A Clear is an unaberrated person and is rational in that he forms the best possible solutions he can on the data he has and from his viewpoint.
*Reactive mind: that portion of a person’s mind which works on a totally stimulus-response basis, which is not under his volitional control and which exerts force and the power of command over his awareness, purposes, thoughts, body and actions.
