As I review the last 20 years of my life, I would have to say that the greatest benefit I have received from Scientology is increased ABILITY.
I started in Scientology in 1982. A single, lonely, tired 23 year old male working as a general laborer for very little income. Life at that point seemed like a daily grind that never really changed. I took various drugs and drank alcohol in significant amounts, attempting to bring some interest into my life. I was quite "stuck."
Now I am a married, happy, energetic 39-year-old. I actually feel much younger than I did at 23 years old. I've been married for 12 years and it is still a great marriage. I haven't taken drugs in 15 years, and I drink alcohol rarely. I have my own business, two cars, and interests in life abound. My hobbies are aquaria, poetry, music, gaming, and mountain bike riding.
Scientology did not give me all this. I gave it to myself. What Scientology did give me is the ABILITY to be, do and have what I want. The rest is up to me! I consider L. Ron Hubbard to be my dearest friend, and the people working in Scientology are the most caring people I have ever met.
