Before Scientology I was doing okay in life by most standards. I was married with 2 kids, had a nice house and a good job. But something was missing. I was often introverted and unsure of myself. I didn't understand my behavior at times and I didn't understand the behavior of others. I was basically unhappy. Outwardly I appeared to be doing well but I knew inside I was not.
I had read a little bit about various self-help books and ideas. There were some good ideas but nothing I felt could really change what was happening. Then I read Dianetics. I lit up like a light bulb because it made so much sense and it told of a workable technology. I called the number on the card inside the book and went to the Dianetics Center 2 days later. There I got more information on Dianetics and was introduced to Scientology.
From that point on, life was never the same. I'm not saying I never had a problem or felt bad again, but what I had was an answer. I applied the data I learned from reading books and taking courses. My life gradually got better and better. I got some auditing (Scientology Spiritual Counseling) and felt like me for the first time.
I would now call myself extroverted and most definitely happy. I enjoy my life more than I ever have and now understand the behavior of myself in the past and of others. I realize that life is not complicated. Life is actually very simple. You just need to know a few basic truths about life and have the ability to apply a few simple remedies. At times it may not seem so, but life is a game which has some purposes and some barriers like any game and Scientology gives you the rules to play and win. For the past 8 years my career has been a full-time Scientology Auditor* and my goal is to help others find out about Scientology and how it can help them.
* Auditor: someone who is trained and qualified to apply Scientology processing to individuals for their benefit. The term comes from the Latin audire, to listen.
