If you want to find out more about Dianetics and Scientology, the best way to do this is to read an L. Ron Hubbard book on the subject. I personally recommend you read The Basic Study Manual.
This book really helped me with understanding that ANY subject can be grasped and applied. The information about study in this book is so simple and yet so profound. I have always loved to learn but was mystified by the fact that I excelled in some subjects (English) and was far below average in others (Math). I discovered in this book that there was no real problem with my aptitude. The problem had been that, in the subject of Math, my teachers and myself had not identified that some basic information was not understood fully.
In the school I attended they kept pushing me forward with the "she's a smart girl she'll catch up" philosophy. But with each grade I got more and more confused until in eleventh grade I found myself crying in front of the Geometry class as my teacher kept asking me "why I didn't know the answer"...(I didn't even understand enough to know the question!) Due to The Basic Study Manual, I now know if I don't "get something" I am confident that by correctly applying the information in this wonderful book I will indeed "get it." I am an actress so I don't have an enormous need for advanced Math skills, but I am considering taking a Math course for FUN!
Also, most importantly, my teenage son was able to turn his study difficulties around. He has always been an "A" student but, ironically, he too started to have some Math difficulties in Jr. High . When he entered High School he started to attend a school that uses L. Ron Hubbard's study approach. They helped him identify the areas that he had gone past (a grade or so back ) and completely rehabilitated his Math. He became certain of his abilities again and has been accepted into the Engineering School at Johns Hopkins University...what more can I say. It works!
