ello, my name is Bob Edmiston, and here is a little bit about myself:

     I am married to a beautiful woman I met while waiting in line at the bank. We have known each other for 13 years now and have been married for 6 years.

     My family has been in California since 1856 when my great-grandfather started farming in the San Joaquin Valley around Sanger.

     My father retired from his vineyard about 10 years ago, but is still very active on a 2 1/2 acre property where he has about 50 fruit trees and grows lots of vegetables. I have been doing landscape gardening for over 30 years (sort of urban farming.)

     The landscape gardening work has kept my interest continuously because you are working with life and people and natural elements like water, soil, stones and lighting, each of which can be a whole life study, especially the people.

     I have also been a musician since the age of 10. I joined the musician’s union when I was 15 so I could play professionally, which I did for a number of years. I got a BA in music from San Francisco State college (now called UC San Francisco.) I started out being a clarinet/ saxophone player and ended being primarily a flute player. I stopped playing about 15 years ago, but still think musically and enjoy listening to all kinds of music except rap. My favorite music to listen to is jazz and classical, with ethnic music being a very strong interest as well.
