About Myself

H ello, my name is Bob Becket, and here is a little bit about myself:

I grew up in Bronxville, NY, one square mile of beautiful suburbia just outside of New York City. My post-high school days were spent at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where I learned about math, computers and southern accents.

After graduating from UNC, I spent a year teaching guitar and playing in a rock band. Although I did enjoy the "rock-n-roll lifestyle," I needed money, you know? So, I got a job as an Apple Macintosh programmer. This paid the bills and was interesting work, but I was in a rut. I was smoking pot and had lost my enthusiasm for life. I just didn't foresee any change of improving my condition.

Then one night as I was lying in bed, I saw an ad on TV for the book, Dianetics: The Modern Science of Mental Health. I watched with strong interest as I saw two of my musical heroes: Chick Corea and Billy Sheehan talking about how Dianetics had helped them to unlock their creative abilities.

I bought Dianetics, read it cover to cover and USED IT (the crucial step) at a Dianetics workshop in Kenersville, North Carolina. And guess what? IT WORKED! I became relaxed, confident and aware, which was something I hadn't felt in a very long time. I also used Dianetics to help a complete stranger eliminate the emotional pain associated with an experience he had when he was three years old! I walked away from the workshop thinking, "This is the only thing I have ever seen that really gets to the root of someone's problem and removed it."[End]
