Prior to Scientology, I was really “lost.” Life was depressing to me and I had stopped dreaming (that was really scary). I looked for answers to questions like, what is this life all about—where am I going—is THIS all there is, work hard, raise a family, get a credit card and then die and go to some place where it all doesn’t mean anything anyway—and how can I achieve real “happiness.” I searched for truth but only found myself more confused and lost.

     I was in a living “hell.”

     In 1975, I decided I needed to relocate in an effort to change my life. I moved from Detroit, Michigan to San Francisco, California. Still lost , confused and frustrated, I tried to change and improve but nothing was different except my geographical location.

     Until one day, when a friend finally got me to get out of the house to attend a lecture on Scientology. This lecture was the most incredible data I had ever received. It gave me hope and a feeling like I had never before known that I had found something I had been looking for all my life. For the first time in my life something made absolute sense to me, and only me. It wasn’t because someone told me to do this or it was “vogue” to and/or the “in-thing” to do at the time like a fad, but this data made absolute sense to me—the being, as if it was native to me. I’ve found out that this is what we Scientologists call “knowingness.” LRH gave me truth and it was truth that was knocking at my door. I walked in to Scientology and had been given hope that I had at last found what was missing in my life. I truly felt I’d been given a new “lease on life.”

     Shortly after Scientology I got involved in activities that I never would have believed would come my way. I became active in stage as a costume designer. I have always loved music and wanted to be a part of creating it. I’ve met musicians and songwriters and have become friends with many. I’ve been involved in musical productions and concerts and have met many professional celebrity musicians and other artists while working on special projects and many are my own personal friends. Scientology has helped to me realize my potentials are more than anyone has ever allowed me to believe and has and still is revitalizing me as an artist and is helping me to wake up the dreamer in me.

     Let me tell you some specific things Scientology has done for me which are still phenomenal to me. I had a career as a Legal Secretary for 12 years and developed the dreaded “carpul tunnel syndrome.” The pain and numbness would wake me in the middle of the night. This went on for about a year. On one occassion, while at a client’s office when working on the computer, I couldn’t even hit a spacebar without pain and difficulty. This condition developed another syndrome called bursitis. When that happened, I couldn’t bend my thumbs and index finger. I went to another Scientologist who applied the L. Ron Hubbard technology known as the “Touch Assist.” After a week, the condition improved and I could bend both thumbs and all my fingers. I now have full use of my hands and fingers and know with certainty the “Assists” worked to heal me.

     Scientology helps me at work. As a legal secretary, I often worked under extreme pressure. Stress and tension is common in a law office enviroment. But, after taking some Scientology courses, I learned how to handle the pressures and stress of work. I no longer was the effect and was at cause over situations while others would panic.

     I’ve since changed my occupation and am in sales. Since I work with people, I constantly apply my Scientology training. Just the other day, my sales were down. Well, I just applied a LRH datum and reached my goal for the day. You see, Scientology is an “applied religious philosophy” .... it’s to be used and, believe me, IT DOES WORK!
